After two days, she was stabilized and eating soft food on her own. The veterinarian let them know he would be sending her home and that whether or not she made a recovery, she would be happier with her family. There were only hopes and prayers that she would continue living. Day by day, Daisy the Dachshund got better and better. Within nine weeks she went from needing round-the-clock care to living a normal life again, other than being on thyroid medicine and having a slight wiggle in her walk. She is definitely a happier dog with a new lease on life.  Daisy the Dachshund overcoming this setback was inspiration for Shannon to get “back to the books” and make the dream of publishing this series a reality. This series is based on real-life experiences and the lessons to be learned from them.
